  2. Algorithms & Neural Networks – Inspired by the human brain, AI uses artificial neural networks—layers of mathematical models that help it "think" and improve over time. 
  3. Training & Adaptation – Through techniques like deep learning, AI refines its abilities, whether that means recognizing faces in photos, translating languages, or recommending your next Netflix binge.

Types of AI: From Narrow to (Potentially) Superintelligent

Not all AI is created equal. Experts classify AI into three main categories: 

  1. Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI) – This is AI specialized in one task (e.g., Google Search, facial recognition). It’s powerful but limited. 
  2. Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) – A hypothetical AI that can think, learn, and reason across multiple fields like a human. We haven’t achieved this yet. 
  3. Artificial Superintelligence (ASI) – The stuff of sci-fi—AI surpassing human intelligence in every way. A fascinating yet controversial idea.

Why AI Matters Today

AI isn’t just a futuristic concept—it’s already reshaping industries: 

  • Healthcare: AI helps diagnose diseases and discover new drugs. 
  • Finance: AI detects fraud and powers stock trading algorithms. 
  • Entertainment: AI generates art, music, and even screenplays. 
  • Everyday Life: From smart home devices to navigation apps, AI makes life easier.

The Ethical Questions

With great power comes great responsibility. AI raises concerns about:
